City/County Buildings

These city or county buildings are on the Notable Properties List or have been covered in the media:

  • 600 E. Broadway, Howard Municipal Building, built 1932. Designed by noted Missouri architect E.J. Eckel.
  • 705 Walnut Street, Boone County Courthouse, built circa-1911. This Classical Revival building is the county’s third courthouse, according to City of Columbia Historical Preservation Commission records. It was placed on the city’s Historical Preservation Commission’s Notable Properties Listing in 2002.
  • 1600 E. Broadway, Boone County Hospital, now called Boone Hospital Center. February 2015, Flashback, Columbia Business Times, no specific link available. However, this February 2015 issue of the CBT includes an article about the growth of the Boone Hospital Center. Here is a June 2017 column by Al Germond published in the Columbia Business Times.
