Dessert, black churches and history at Sept. 22 event

“The most segregated we are is on Sunday morning,” said Barbra Horrell in this Sept. 4, 2019 Columbia Missourian article.

That’s the reason behind the Sept. 22 walk to six different sites in Columbia. The sites are St. Luke United Methodist Church, Russel Chapel, Second Missionary Baptist Church, the Annie Fisher African-American Heritage Trail marker, St. Paul AME Church and the Fifth Street Christian Church.

The event will start at 3 p.m. at the St. Luke United Methodist Church at 204 E. Ash St. and end there as well.

Participants are asked to bring a dessert to share so I’ll be there. What could be better than history and dessert?
